Transport is a hands-on job. Our warehouse team are moving pallets, our drivers are out on the roads and there’s always plenty happening across the business.
We want our staff to be able to get on with their jobs knowing they’ve got the right support behind them. That means taking health and safety seriously, not just having a policy tucked away in a folder.
Our Health & Safety team are IOSH and NEBOSH accredited, helping us keep our working practices up to date and in line with current legislation and industry standards.
Making sure our team is supported
No two days are quite the same in transport. There are deliveries to organise, vehicles to manage and goods that need handling properly. It’s important that our staff understand the risks involved in their work and know how to deal with them.
Our Health & Safety team work with the staff to spot where things could be done better and sort out any issues. We want our drivers and warehouse team to speak up if something isn’t right, rather than feel they have to get on with it.
These things might not be what customers see when they book a pallet delivery, but they’re part of running our business properly.
It’s about the people doing the job
We depend on our drivers, warehouse staff and wider team every day. Looking after them is a responsibility we take seriously.
For us, health and safety needs to work in practice, not just on paper. It’s about making sure people know what’s expected, have the right guidance and can do their jobs without taking unnecessary risks.
When you’re choosing a transport partner, there’s a lot to consider, from delivery times to reliability. We believe the way a company looks after its people matters, too.
At Sovereign Transport Services, that’s something we continue to work on every day.
